Curious Promotional Decision #242

The NFL's new commercial song for this season is a cover of "Every Day Is Like Sunday."

The song features lyrics like:
This is the coastal town
That they forgot to close down
Armageddon — come armageddon!
Come, armageddon! come!

Everyday is like Sunday
Everyday is silent and grey
and
How I dearly wish I was not here
In the seaside town
...that they forgot to bomb
Come, come, come — nuclear bomb

Everyday is like Sunday
Everyday is silent and grey
The song was written and performed by Morrissey, a man who has claimed to be asexual, allegedly had a relationship with noted birthday-ruiner Michael Stipe, and probably appeals to only four groups of NFL players:
1. Hispanics in the American southwest, especially L.A. chicanos.
2. White quarterbacks (especially backups).
3. Players on the down-low.
4. Players willing to drag him behind their Escalades and crucify him on barbed wire, if they could find any.
That said, I am absolutely 100% certain that Tom Brady unironically loves the crap out of Morrissey and The Smiths.
